From Saluzzo’s orchards to Barolo
The province of Cuneo is large and agricultural: the Langhe and Roero produce Barolo and Barbaresco, the Saluzzo area apples and other fruit, the hills Piedmont hazelnuts and Alba white truffles. There is Piedmontese cattle farming, PDO cheeses such as Bra and Castelmagno, and a widespread food and engineering industry.
In companies like these software follows the product from field to customer: members’ deliveries, fruit sizes and grades, ageing, batches and certifications. For engineering workshops, what counts instead is keeping orders, times and materials under control.
Many businesses are cooperatives or family firms spread over small towns far apart from one another, and a large share sell abroad. They need systems that work even on weak connections and speak to customers in several languages.
